muvee Reveal X Review

muvee Reveal X ReviewFor the amateur home movie maker who doesn’t really want to make home movies, muvee Reveal X might just be the perfect home movie making software!

Confused? Read on, this may just be what you are looking for! (Not for the confusion part, for the movie making part…)

muvee Reveal X lets you turn your home videos and photographs into great movies with a user interface so simple and a workflow so automated that even your grandma could do it.

While she was at it she could add screen captions, subtitles, regular titles, audio and effects and could even credit her “staff” at the end of the movie!

And the real beauty of it is that she could do all of this while remaining utterly clueless as to how she did it!

So let’s set aside the clueless granny market for the moment and get down to what muvee Reveal X really is and what it really can do for you.

The first important point to understand in reading this is that in all honesty although muvee Reveal X offers a lot of cool features for the amateur, it is not something that I personally would invest in.

It doesn’t have the advanced controls that I like to use when editing a video and I actually enjoy fiddling around with video on my computer for hours on end while my wife walks around the house scowling at me.

However, if you want to painlessly put together a professional looking video without getting bogged down in technical terms or a bewildering array of options, then you will probably really like muvee Reveal X.

The choice is simple, if you have no interest in the process of editing video files and just want the final product then muvee Reveal X will be perfect for you.

How Muvee Reveal X Works

Here is a brief look at the way it works and I am serious when I say that it really is this simple.

First, all you have to do is choose the images and videos that you want to integrate into your final film.

You can use videos or pictures from almost any source. You can download media from your smart phone, your webcam, your camcorder, or your digital SLR camera.

You don’t need to worry about whether the sources come in different sizes, different formats, or even if they have different aspect ratios… you don’t even need to know what that last sentence meant!

This software has the built-in capacity to detect and sync all of those differences whether you have a widescreen video with an aspect ratio of 16:9 or a standard video that has an aspect ratio of 4:3.

After you have selected your media sources, you need to choose a style. I will talk more about the muvee Reveal X styles later in this review but at this point you can sit back for a second or two while the software creates your video for you automatically.

I know I keep saying it really is that simple but… It really is that simple! It does everything from syncing the video to the beat of the music to creating borders and other stuff that will make your film look cool.

It even has face and motion detection technology that can match the contents of video clips and images together to make a pretty accurate guess as to what assets should be grouped together.

At this point of the process if you like the preview, you are pretty well done. You can share your video with others by burning it onto a DVD or you can upload it to YouTube or any other video sharing site.

No need to bother about all the output settings and video file choices at this point either. Just tell the software what you want to do and it will automatically put it together correctly. Muvee even has a dedicated site where users can share their videos.

If you want to add some personal touches with titles, credits, captions, or even voiceovers, you can easily do that after the preview in a few easy to follow steps.

Here is a quick video demonstration of what the software looks like and how it operates.

muvee Reveal X Styles

The style that you choose actually determines how your final product will look. The muvee Reveal X software has six different styles. Each style has its own set of effects, transitions between sequences and animations.

Personally, I like to mess around with colors and filters and create my own timeline, but if that sounds too complicated for you or about as interesting as watching paint dry then the styles will take care of all of that for you.

When creating muvee Reveal X, the manufacturers hired a team of knowledgeable geeks who could do all of that for you so you could focus on other things like taking the videos and pictures in the first place.
